Next Generation iPhone To Be Thinner And Smaller

The hype surrounding the next generation iPhone is not going to die out anytime soon. The latest development comes from an interview conducted by AllThingsD with Orange CEO Stephane Richard who claims that the next iPhone is going to be thinner and smaller that ever before.

It has previously been rumored that Apple is going to use a further smaller sim card in the upcoming iPhone, and all carriers are working with the company on its implementation. So when the Orange CEO says the next iPhone is going to be thinner and smaller, there can be one of two reasons. Either he is merely referring to these new sim cards, or he's actually saying that the next generation iPhone is going to be thinner and smaller in terms of design.

Another amazing possibility is that he may have referred to the much hyped about iPhone Nano. It was rumored that Apple was working on a smaller iPhone code named N97 which would have edge-to-edge display and will use voice recognition. So a radically smaller sim card does make one think for a second that they might be being produced for the iPhone Nano. Stephane said:

The person who saw the prototype of the new iPhone said the device was significantly lighter than the iPhone 4 and had an edge-to-edge screen that could be manipulated by touch, as well as a virtual keyboard and voice-based navigation
Truth be told, one may have to take what Stephane says, seriously. It was through this person, that we had known of a 3G iPad with a "webcam" well before Apple announced the iPad 2. Let's just hope his sources are correct this time around as well.
